Digihua × Waftech:From SMI to AI-Bringing Intelligence to Semiconductor Equipment. Powering the Next Phase of Smart Manufacturing in Southeast Asia

DigiHua Intelligent Systems (DigiHua), a leading solution provider driving the digital transformation of the manufacturing sector, today announced the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Waftech Sdn Bhd., a prominent Malaysian semiconductor equipment manufacturer. The collaboration involves a deep cross-domain integration of IT (Information Technology) and OT (Operational Technology). DigiHua will embed its well-established Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Equipment Automation Program (EAP), and latest AI Agent capabilities into Waftech’s semiconductor equipment, jointly providing a total factory solution for the Southeast Asia semiconductor supply chain featuring Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and Remote Intelligent Control.

Software-Hardware Integration to Define the Next Generation of Smart Semiconductor Manufacturing

The core of this partnership is to break down information silos between equipment and systems. As planned, Waftech’s precision semiconductor equipment will serve as the platform for the deep integration of DigiHua’s industrial software expertise. Key technical highlights of the collaboration include:

  1. Smart Equipment Connectivity and Communication Standardization: Through the standardized integration of communication protocols such as SECS/GEM, Waftech’s equipment can achieve “Plug-and-Play” connectivity with the fab’s EAP and MES systems, significantly accelerating customer deployment time.
  2. RCM and RPA for Process Automation: Integrating DigiHua’s RCM (Remote Control Management) solution for remote equipment monitoring and anomaly handling. Utilizing RPA (Robotic Process Automation) technology, the system can automatically correct process parameters (e.g., cutting scribe line deviation correction), automating alert handling that previously required manual intervention, and is expected to help customers resolve up to 60% of common equipment alarms.
  3. FDC and AI Predictive Maintenance: Fault Detection & Classification (FDC) combined with AI algorithms issue pre-warnings before failures occur, reducing unscheduled downtime and Dummy Wafer waste, directly boosting OEE.

Rooted in Malaysia, Radiating Across the Southeast Asian Market

Mr. Allen Yan, Chairman of DigiHua Intelligent Systems, stated: “In the wave of Industry 4.0, customers no longer need only standalone equipment or software, but an integrated solution that solves pain points on the factory floor. The alliance with Waftech signifies that DigiHua’s AI Agent application scenarios are descending from the ‘Factory Management Layer’ to the ‘Equipment Control Layer.’ Together, we will define a new generation of semiconductor equipment with embedded AI Agent capabilities.”

Mr. Wong Siaw Wah, CEO of Waftech, commented: “Waftech has deep roots in the Malaysian semiconductor equipment market. This collaboration with DigiHua will inject a powerful ‘digital brain’ into our hardware. By offering a pre-integrated Turnkey Solution, we will be able to provide customers with higher value-added services, helping them enhance production resilience in the highly competitive semiconductor assembly and test market.”

Future Outlook

Both parties anticipate starting Technical Alignment in Early 2026, jointly conducting Proof-of-Concept (POC) site development in Mid-2026, and formally launching and jointly promoting the integrated solution to the market in June 2026. This combined “Equipment + AI System” solution will be a crucial cornerstone for assisting Southeast Asian semiconductor customers in their digital transformation journey.

About DigiHua Intelligent Systems

DigiHua provides high-tech smart manufacturing solutions, built on the merger of two expert teams: iMES Technology (est. 1995 by Taiwan’s ITRI, specializing in semiconductor MES) and an APS expert team (est. 2000).

In response to the global AI trend, DigiHua has introduced AI Agent technology into its CIM(Computer-Integrated Manufacturing) architecture. By integrating “Systems” with “Intelligent Agents,” DigiHua delivers four core advantages: zero-threshold adoption, precise real-time search, training-free operation, and proactive prediction.

Leveraging over three decades of accumulated industry experience, DigiHua has become a trusted partner to over 2,300 manufacturing clients and 250+ leading semiconductor manufacturers, with established offices in Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand to serve ASEAN customers.
