In the context of the growing trend toward regionalized supply chains, cross-regional collaborative management has become a critical strategic focus for manufacturing enterprises. DigiHua Intelligent Systems has officially launched a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) implementation project for Whizz System, spanning their manufacturing facilities in San Jose, USA, and Penang, Malaysia.
This project is executed by DigiHua in partnership with the local automation specialist Sciengate Automation. The scope of the project encompasses the entire manufacturing process for Whizz System’s electronics production, including Surface Mount Technology (SMT), Dual In-line Package (DIP) assembly, and Functional Testing (FT).
Operational Challenges and Solutions in Multi-Site Management
In global expansion, multinational digital transformation typically faces several practical challenges:
- Geographical and Time Zone Constraints: With a 15-hour time difference between San Jose and Penang, the system design must support remote collaboration and asynchronous communication.
- Language and Communication Barriers: Operations in Penang are primarily conducted in Malay, while San Jose operates in English. The system must support multi-language switching, and the consulting team must be bilingual to ensure the accuracy of process mapping.
- Data Consistency and Transparency: Management requires a “Single Source of Truth” to achieve real-time visibility into production yield, equipment utilization (OEE), and Work-in-Process (WIP) status across different sites.
DigiHua’s Implementation Strategy: The CEBIT Methodology
To facilitate cross-site synergy, DigiHua has adopted a “Malaysia-first, followed by USA” implementation strategy, leveraging the CEBIT methodology to ensure project success:
- Unified System Architecture: Establishing standardized master data and process models to ensure consistent logic for both R&D trial runs in the US and mass production in Malaysia.
- Phased Deployment: Prioritizing the Penang facility for initial deployment, followed by a standardized rollout to the San Jose plant to ensure system stability.
- Expert Consultancy: Providing a team of consultants experienced in cross-cultural environments to tailor the system to local management needs, while ensuring compliance with regional data traceability regulations.
Project Kick-off: Key Perspectives and Commitments
During the project kick-off meeting, representatives shared their insights regarding the project goals and execution:
- Mr. Zainal, Plant Manager, Whizz System (Malaysia): “Following a rigorous evaluation, we have selected Sciengate Automation and the experienced team at DigiHua to lead our dual-site digital transformation. This initiative is vital to our manufacturing capabilities and corporate evolution. We are committed to aligning our internal teams and working closely with DigiHua’s timeline to ensure a successful, on-time launch.”

- Chewei Chou, Director of Southeast Asia Strategic Business Unit, DigiHua: “DigiHua brings extensive industrial experience from the Greater China region, allowing us to offer holistic advice on system implementation and management optimization. For us, the core of a digital solution is finding the ‘management model best suited’ for the client, rather than simply deploying software. The key to success lies in the seamless collaboration between our teams to ensure the system is effectively integrated into Whizz System’s operations.”
- Jonathan Hou, Project Consultant, DigiHua: (Communicating in both Malay and English to key users across both sites) “This project is not merely an MES deployment; it involves comprehensive process re-engineering across planning, production, warehousing, and equipment management. DigiHua is committed to facilitating seamless communication and providing clear guidance on the strategic roadmap and phased implementation schedule to ensure a smooth digital upgrade.”

This partnership with Whizz System highlights DigiHua’s professional expertise and international service capabilities in the industrial software sector. We remain committed to assisting our clients in building smart management systems that provide data transparency and actionable decision-making support in their global manufacturing footprint.
